Nine new jobs are to be created at Yates’s in Bury when it re-opens later this week following a £100,000 refurbishment. The additional jobs, two kitchen based and seven front of house, are in response to the anticipated boost in trade at the busy Market Street pub.
The pub, situated on the site of a grade II listed former bank, is currently closed for a full makeover and will celebrate its re-launch with a champagne and canapé reception for local businesses and invited guests between 5-7pm on Friday 26th July. Stilt-walkers and fire-eaters will be on hand to welcome guests as the doors open to the public from 7pm. The whole re-launch weekend will be beach themed, the highlight of which will be a guest DJ appearance and meet and greet from former Hollyoaks and Coronation Street star Chris Fountain.
Commenting on the refurbishment Harry Higgs, general manager said, “Our customers are going to be really wowed by the changes when they come back in after the refurbishment. The pub is much lighter and brighter and the team and I have spent the time whilst the builders and designers have been working their magic to re-fresh customer service skills. We have a new late night opening time of 2am on Thursdays and 3am on Fridays and Saturdays meaning Yates’s is still the best party venue in town.”
The pub, which has long been a popular breakfast, lunchtime and early evening venue for quality, value for money food, will be opening from 10am Monday until Saturday and midday on Sundays. New to the pub will be three cask ale pumps so that customers can enjoy two national ales and a regularly rotating guest ale, starting with Black Sheep Brewery’s Black Sheep Ale, at the pub.
