Popular Berwick-upon-Tweed pub, the Leaping Salmon, has reopened following an exciting six-figure investment, accompanying the launch of the pub’s new menu on April 15th.
Once a Wetherspoons pub, converted from an old school house and popular with holidaymakers, the pub has a strong place in Berwick-upon-Tweed locals’ hearts with the pub now residing as the go-to spot for a cold pint and a tasty bite to eat.
As part of the renovations, the pub has undergone a full redecoration of the customer area, including comfy new furniture, additional booth seating, a new upgraded terrace and a huge improvement in all audio-visual aspects, with a new 86-inch HD TV taking centre stage.
A bespoke bar games area has been created for guests to enjoy a game of pool with a view of all multiple TVs with full sports package viewing, with free pool available on Tuesdays from 8pm.
Externally, the pub has received a fresh lick of a paint, with a trip to the Leaping Salmon now looking more inviting than ever.
What’s more, the new investment has led to 10 new jobs in the local community with the recruitment process now completed.
Equipped with Sky Sports and TNT Sports, guests can enjoy playing pub sports while not missing a second of the action, with sports fans able to witness every moment of the big game at the Leaping Salmon.
Alongside the reopening of the pub, the new menu boasts a return of some old favourites, with some amazing large plates and plenty of opportunity to share with friend and family. With food themed nights every day of the week with ‘Nice N Spicy Thursdays’ and ‘Fish Up Fridays’ set to become firm favourites.
Located in the picturesque area of Berwick-upon-Tweed, dogs are more than welcome throughout the pub, making it a favoured spot for guests popping in for a pint with their pooch.
The Leaping Salmon also boasts a fine selection of beers, ciders and wine, all at some of the most competitive price points in the area. However, the pub also has an extensive offering of no and low alcohol drinks, ensuring all guests are accommodated to.
Throughout the week, the Leaping Salmon has some of the best drink deals in the area, with users of the MiXR app available to enjoy exclusive deals as well as a free drink, just for signing up.

The pub also boasts an exciting weekly events schedule with Quiz Night on Monday nights, free pool from 8pm on Tuesdays and a special local live music act performing on the last Saturday of every month.
