The George & Dragon in Norton has recently had a £233,000 investment by the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company.
Since reopening its doors, the team at the pub have been welcoming in lots of members of the local area, and more recently was paid a visit by Alex Cunningham MP.
Operator, Ann-Marie and the team were on hand to warmly welcome the MP for Stockton North and show him around the new look George & Dragon.
Ann-Marie was able to tell Alex about all the enhancements that had been made during the investment, giving the venue a more modern look and feel. As well as new fixtures and fittings, the pub’s drinks menu has been improved offering an extensive menu and new regular entertainment including live sports, quiz nights and DJ nights.
Ann-Marie said: “Reopening the doors at the George & Dragon after its refurbishment has been so lovely, the reaction from guests has been so nice and the team and I love its new look. Alex was also very pleased with how the pub has been transformed and really liked the new additions.”
As well as talking about the recent investment, Ann-Maire and the team talked to Alex about how they engage with the local community through their weekly entertainment and being a space where everyone is welcome. The importance of sports was also highlighted to Alex, as it is a big part of the pub and bringing teams and fans together.
Ann-Marie added: “The community of Norton is really important to us, they have supported us since reopening and we want to do all we can to give back to them. We are so happy to see everyone using the pub as their own space, for a relaxing time, meetings and a fun night out.
“It was great to have Alex visit us and we look forward to the next time he pops by the George & Dragon!”
