OKTOBERFEST CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL AT THE ALEX SOUTHEND
Where: The Alex, 53 Alexandra Street, Southend-on-Sea SS1 1BW

Visitors to the Alex, Alexandra Street, Southend will be getting a big warm wilkommen as they prepare to host a 10-day celebration of the best craft brews in Europe, which will kick off on the 1st of October.
Brewers, And Union, will be shipping in Modernist Bavarian Craft Beer from Germany to showcase at the event. Sitting alongside the array of unfiltered traditional brews, Lagunitas will be operating a specialty bar hosting 10 different taps, featuring a variety of beers from Lagunitas, Meantime, Brewdog, and Camden Brewery.
The festivities launch with a 3-day Oktoberfest on the 5th, 6th, and 7th, featuring 20 live music performances from local solo artist and bands. Included in the line-up are soulful groovers Tabou, Tate, electrodirt 4-piece Killatrix, and a splash of southern rock sounds from Wartime Nebraska. The team at the pub will be getting into the spirit of the celebrations, dressed in traditional costume, serving perfect pints and tasty traditional dishes including pretzels and schnitzel.
General Manager Andrew Pipe said: “We are so excited to be hosting our second annual Oktoberfest. We have staged many live music events in the past but this one has a special feel to it. We get to bring alive the traditions of another culture and celebrate it with our local community. The team get so involved and really embrace the fancy dress. I hope all those who are in the neighbourhood take the chance to stop by to sample some of the great beers and food.”
Exclusively on Friday, from 6pm craft beer and cocktails will be £3.50 each.
The event will be 18+ from 7pm onward each evening, there is no entry fee.
