Formby’s tucked away Pinewoods pub has got a new owner and with twenty-five jobs alongside a huge £230,000 transformational spend before the doors even open, it’s definitely got everybody talking.
Giving locals first preview, the big reveal is Monday 16th October ahead of a launch party Saturday 21st October with Mayor of Sefton, Councillor Dave Robinson on hand to pull the first pint, before a live band ramps up the celebration.
David McCartan, as experienced as a landlord gets with thirty-five years behind the bar, says everything about the pub will be in making it the cornerstone of the community. “The Pinewoods is designed with every part of the community in mind from our cask ale to our cocktails; Sunday Roast to Premium Burgers; and live bands to bingo afternoons.
“Pubs play such an important role in bringing people together whether that be through socialising, supporting team sports or fundraising for charities – we’re providing the perfect atmosphere to do all of that.”
The pub will boast a new bar of premium products and six real ales and cider, new flooring, opulent lighting, high-brow bar sports viewing, and a refined dining area.
Sports will be a key feature with BT and Sky Sports, two big screens, HD TVs, and optimum table service during big games – as if evidencing this is a classy local needed further proof – with food and drink, and entertainment getting just as much focus.
Quality real ales are being sourced from national and local breweries such as Red Star and Birkenhead’s Peerless; a modern gin menu pairs botanicals with the perfect tonic; cocktails are two-for-one all day every day; and there’s a great selection of wines and soft drinks.
Food has something for every one too with 2 meals from £8.95 such as Fish & Chips and Beef & Ale Pie all day every day. Burgers from Classic Beef to Three-way Chicken, Grills and Build-your-own Planks for the ultimate socialites couldn’t get more ‘proper pub’.
