Two well-loved community pubs, The Turks Head and West Riding are doing a fantastic job with their efforts to raise money for various local charities. Both popular local hubs are hosting ongoing fun-filled events and fundraisers to raise money for their chosen causes as part of Craft Union’s wider campaign ‘Make it a Million’, in which the company aims to hit £1 million in charity fundraising through its pubs nationwide by February 2025.
Craft Union Pub Company is now the fastest growing operator led company in the industry. Following the success of its fundraising efforts last year, with the business making over £800,000 in charitable donations, the company has aimed to smash their record and make 1 million pounds for various local causes via its extensive network of pubs across the UK.
Operators of the Turks Head, Nina and Holly, are hoping to raise £5,000 in charitable donations to hit their target of £8,000 for reciprocal IVF. Following their first event, which took place Saturday 18th May, they are already off to a flying start, with £350 raised on the day via their ‘Bonus Ball’ game. The fundraiser is incredibly important to the couple, and they have been hosting ongoing action-packed fundraisers which include a further ‘Bonus Ball’, football card sales, spin the wheel games, as well as awesome raffles, bringing their total to a whopping £1315 so far.
The local favourite will be hosting a Fundraising Day on Saturday 13th July, which will be jam-packed with live music, games, karaoke and various fundraising tournaments, all to raise funds for such a worthy cause. Nina and Holly have kicked off their fundraising with a bang and aren’t stopping there to reach their goal. Members of the local community are invited along to share in the fundraising fun and help Nina and Holly reach their fantastic target.
Another much-loved pub doing its part for the community is West Riding, whose operator, Gail, is keen to build a relationship with the local town. Gail is an eager charity supporter and is excited to bring her efforts to Scarborough, raising much-needed funds for local community centre, The Rainbow Centre. Gail has kicked off fundraising by hosting a lively karaoke event and a tombola, already raising £335 toward her goal. The West Riding has also donated 5 big bags of food to The Rainbow Centre’s food banks and is planning on continuing this support regularly. Gail is set to begin volunteering at the support centre soon and is hoping to build a commendable relationship with fellow members of the community.
The community favourite will also be running some fun-packed events on Saturday 29th June to celebrate Armed Forces Day, in which Gail hopes to raise around £500 in support of the Armed Forces. The spirited fundraisers will include a sing along and a tombola, so members of the local community can expect to get involved with the fun for a worthy cause.
Jason Herringshaw, Regional Manager at Stonegate Group said, “I am so proud of the amazing work the teams in the pubs across my region are doing for charity. To see the community spirit and generosity of locals across Scarborough is incredibly heart-warming and commendable, and I would like to personally thank each and every one of the pub teams for their effort and kindness in our mission to hit the million mark.”
The Turks Head and West Riding are popular Craft Union pubs and are making phenomenal collective efforts to raise money as part of Craft Union’s “Make it a Million” charity fundraising goal.
