Renowned Stafford Street pub, the Hogshead, has reopened following a huge six-figure investment, unveiling a brand-new food and drinks menu as part of its exciting transformation.
The Hogshead underwent an extensive three-week renovation after closing at the start of January. The venue has been completely redecorated, with brand-new state-of-the-art lighting installed throughout, enhancing its vibrant atmosphere.
The refurbishment has made the popular bar the home of pub sport in Wolverhampton, with all the major sports channels being shown on the venue’s many HD TV screens. Whether it’s Premier League football, NFL, rugby, boxing, or Formula 1, the venue has every sporting event covered.
New booths equipped with HD TVs have been built for those looking to get a close-up view of the sporting action, all while enjoying one of the pub’s refreshing lagers. The pub has also enhanced the viewing in all areas of the pub with state of the art and larger screens, all in time for the 6 Nations.
Additionally, a new sign designed by talented student Grace Imray, the winner of a competition at the University of Wolverhampton, has been brought to life by the Hogshead. The new signs pays homage to Wolverhampton rock band, Slade, with the new colour scheme representing the glam rock fashion movement of the time.
What’s more, it’s not just the venue that’s getting a refresh – the reopening also marks the debut of a brand-new food and drinks menu. The food menu will feature the likes of deliciously cheesy Detroit pizzas amongst other delightful delicacies, while the drinks menu will see the addition of a new and improved cocktails menu, which is 2-4-1, all day every day.
The new drinks menu continues to highlight the pub’s dedication to offering the best range of beverages in the area with crafts, world beers and cider at some of the most competitive prices in the area, especially on Thursdays with generous deals available on crafts and cocktails.
However, those not drinking alcohol will be able to choose from an extensive range of no and low alcohol options, ensuring everyone is accommodated to throughout Dry January and beyond.
Four-legged friends are welcome throughout the pub, with the venue being a popular spot for dog walkers popping in for a pint.
MiXR users can also unlock exclusive rewards at the Hogshead by downloading the MiXR app and creating an account, including a free drink just for signing up. Students can also take advantage of special discounts available exclusively through the app.
Sarah Lathwood, General Manager of the Hogshead, said: “These renovations align with Stonegate Group’s commitment to keep improving and innovating, meaning we can give our guests the best possible experience at our pub.
“We want this investment to make our pub the go-to destination in Wolverhampton, not only for watching the best sporting action on our big screens, but also for enjoying delicious food and drink at great prices.
“Our new food and drinks menu means we now have an unmatched selection of world beers, ciders, and cocktails, which I believe is the best offering in the area, and just wait until you try out our new Detroit Pizza range!”
The pub hosts a variety of exciting food and drink deals throughout the week, with the popular 2-for-1 cocktail offer all week and bottomless brunch at the weekend being the most loved by locals.
What’s more, a new weekly events schedule has been announced, beginning with a biweekly open mic night on Tuesday, Wingman Wednesdays, and the ever-popular Speed Quiz on Thursday nights.
On the last Friday of every month, a special live musical act takes to the stage, while on Saturday nights, a local DJ will be playing club classics to provide the ultimate soundtrack to your night out.
Reopening in style, Saturday hosted DJ Niel Jackson spinning tunes until the early hours, while Sunday saw a special Q&A and meet and greet with Wolves’ legend, Steve Bull MBE – the club’s all-time top scorer.
