The MP for Rochford and Southend East recently visited Popworld on Warrior Street after the venue reopened its doors a few months ago.

The bustling late-night venue, formally known as the Rhythm Rooms, had £400,000 invested into it by the award-winning pub company Stonegate Group and saw significant enhancements made throughout.

General Manager, Rosie Warwick and the team were able to give Sir James Duddridge KCMG the grand tour of the nightclub, pointing out all the new enhancements that have been added throughout the venue.

Rosie commented: “We have loved welcoming in so many guests over the last few months for a Popworld party and are happy to be a part of the town’s nightlife. It is so nice to see guests come in and have a good time, enjoying drinks and singing and dancing away to nostalgic and cheesy pop hits.

“The team and I really enjoyed showing Sir James around the venue and talking to him about the work which was carried out.”

During Sir James’ visit, he was able to find out about how the venue puts on different pop entertainment nights to involve all members of the community including karaoke to classic pop tunes. Rosie also explained all the ways in which customers are kept safe during their visit to Popworld and they both reflected on the history of the site.

Rosie added: “We have so much to shout about at Popworld Southend, and it was great to have Sir James visit and tell him all the great things we do. From discussing our poptastic venue and local topics, the visit was very positive. Sir James is always welcome and we look forward to seeing him again.”

Sir James Duddridge KCMG MP said: “I had a fantastic time visiting Popworld in Southend and discovering this new venue in the city. Popworld seems like a really fun place to go, and it was great to hear from Rosie and the team about all the fun things they do to bring the local community together. I wish the team all the best for the future.”
