QUEEN STREET TAP, THE £500,000 TRENDY NEW BAR in DEAL, is opening after weeks of eager anticipation, just in time for the August Bank Holiday on Thursday (24th August).
The stylish transformation where ‘Hole in the Roof’ once stood oozes cool, funky, and eclectic with its fourteen craft beers, seventeen strong gin palace, premium sports offer and music line up of live acoustics and jazz through to late night high energy Ibiza tunes.
It’s a much welcome development new owner Stonegate Pub Company have brought to the seaside town adding a fresh chapter to its centuries of quirky pub history. Far from the niche and selective of bygone days, it’s a day to late night on-trend offer; breakfast with a twist, lunch and a soft drink for £6 Monday – Friday 12-3pm, 241 cocktails Monday to Friday 5-8pm, and music until 2am just a few items on the agenda.
“It’s been a crazy few weeks and local interest has been amazing,” said manager and bar operator of 17 years, Andy Moore. “The renovation is astounding – an urban, artisan feel with all the facilities to make us the home for sports, al fresco dining, relaxation or party, and music.
The excitement has built across social media with the first weekend a measure of things to come as local acoustic duo Milky Negro play Thursday, DJ Rick Live flies in from Ibiza to play Saturday, and original legend DJ Jon Boy plays after Sunday’s live ‘Kwizz’. With Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Madrid just a few teams playing over the weekend too, the thirty-six strong team, are all revved up for an unforgettable weekend.
Keeping it local, Time & Tide brewery is lending a helping hand with the craft beer revolution whilst mainstream Estrella, Peroni and Amstel ensure something for everyone.
The range of fresh ingredient dishes creates a refined dining experience with signature dishes that could easily be served from the street – eleven (or build your own) Sicilian inspired pizzas; British and Mediterranean tapas from Beef & Horseradish Bites to Iberico Ham Croqetas; Sticky Wings and Nachos. If salads and sandwiches are your thing, Roasted Beets, Roots & Grilled Halloumi Salad or BBQ Beef Focaccia might tickle your fancy. Even 2 ‘usual suspects’ meals are great value at £9.50 for the likes of Baked Lasagne and Cumberland Sausage & Mash.
“The investment is great for Deal with a positive contribution to the local economy that we hope will benefit other businesses,” added Andy. “The return to live and local music, comedy and jazz with a food and drink offer aimed at a wide customer base is destined to create a real feel good factor locally.”
