Despite recent weather conditions (almost a blast from the past), the £65,000 garden refurbishment has completed at Penarth’s Railway Hotel.

The overhaul has increased the garden’s number of seats to almost 100 including heated and covered booths, new furniture, plants, foliage, and flooring.

A definite sun trap for sun worshippers, or for now those wanting a cool spring breeze, it’s a huge investment from owners Stonegate Pub Company.

“Our garden has always been popular and is an extension of the pub for use by all the community,” said manager Tom Galloway. “Pub gardens are a real tradition for a lot of pubs but there are not so many left with as much space as ours so we’ve maximised the space we have and welcome adults, children, even four legged friends to pop by and relax in the fantastic space.”

Popular for sports, quizzes, music and good old fashioned pub food and beer, the extra facility is destined to be a busy oasis – especially as the warmer weather arrives!
