The award-winning Craft Union Pub Company invested £225,000 into the Sir Robert Peel, Bloxwich pub towards the end of last year. One of the pub’s more recent guests was the Mayor of Walsall, Rose Martin and her husband.

The Mayor, Rose Martin, and her husband were welcomed into the pub by Operator Daryl Billing and the pub’s team, as well as customers who were enjoying a drink at the time.

Daryl and the team were able to tell the Mayor all about the pub’s recent investment, explaining all of the changes that were made. Because of this significant investment, Sir Robert Peel was given a completely new look inside and out, making it a more modernised venue to relax in and enjoy time with family and friends.

As well as discussing the investment, Daryl and the team spoke to the Mayor about how they engage with the wider community of Bloxwich. Through great drinks and brilliant entertainment, with the addition of live sports and party nights, Sir Robert Peel welcomes its customers to unwind and have fun.

The Mayor was able to find out first-hand from local customers why they love coming to the pub. During her visit, she also met some four-legged friends as the pub is dog friendly, and even got behind the bar to pull some pints and take orders.

The Mayor of Walsall said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Sir Robert Peel and loved meeting Daryl and the team. I think the pub looks really good after its refurbishment and it was so nice to hear how much the customers like it too. The atmosphere was extremely friendly and comfortable, and it is lovely that the pub is dog friendly. The community work carried out by the pub is already amazing and it will be great to work with the team on some upcoming charity work. Daryl and the team are doing a great job and I wish them all success in the future.”

Daryl commented: “It was so nice to have our local Mayor visit, she was so lovely and was really pleased with our community business. She was very complimentary of our new look and it was great to see her engaging with the customers. The team and I are very excited to work with the Mayor on future fundraising activities to support local charities. We look forward to the next time the Mayor pops by for a pint and a chat.”
