Slug and Lettuce in Bromsgrove has raised £600 for young cerebral palsy sufferer girl Georgia Almquest, by hosting a night in her honour at the bar.
The bar on the High Street joined the cause that has united Bromsgrove. General manager James Morrall pledged to host an evening in aid of two year old Georgia Almquest, whose parents launched an appeal to raise the £20,000 needed for her to have for vital stem cell treatment.
The ‘Hope for Georgia’ evening, on Friday 22 February, included a live performance from Indie band Paradise Forum. A raffle took place too with a huge selection of fantastic prizes donated from local businesses and regulars including £100 gift voucher from Block 98 Men’s Designer Clothing, a makeover session at Profiles Hair and Beauty Salon, cinema tickets at The Artix, complimentary zumba classes at Passion4Dance, dance classes with Elite Performing Arts and a signed Manchester United football.
“We are truly thankful to the local businesses who kindly donated prizes for the raffle, to our fabulous customers who dug deep in their pockets on the night and to Paradise Forum for delivering an incredible performance. The evening was a huge success and the atmosphere amazing. We are delighted to have been able to hand over £600 to Georgia’s parents to help with her all-important on-going treatment,” said James.
