The Earl Spencer, in Southfields, Wandsworth has seen local MP for Putney, Fleur Anderson, visit the pub following its £226,000 investment earlier in the year by Stonegate Group.
General Manager, Emil Draghici and his team were on hand to make sure Fleur Anderson was warmly welcomed into the pub and to show off its enhancements made during the investment. As well as showing off the pub, Emil was able to discuss with Fleur the learning development programs that Stonegate Group offers to its staff. They also discussed the charity support The Earl Spencer team provide to the local community. Recently, the team have been collecting toys and receiving donations from everyone in the local community for the charity Little Lives and a Ukraine war support group and will be donating them on Tuesday 20 December.
Fleur Anderson MP said: “I had a lovely time visiting The Earl Spencer and seeing the investment Stonegate Group has made in the pub. It was also nice to see the involvement they have within the local community and it’s a wonderful gesture that the team are allowing us to use the Function Room for future meetings of the Local Council and other institutes in Wandsworth area. I look forward to returning to the pub, meeting with Emil and the team and spending more time in this wonderful local pub.”
Emil commented: “It was great to welcome Fleur into our local pub to see everything that has been done during the investment. She took an interest in many aspects of the business and wanted to hear all about our employment opportunities, training and development programs which all employees are offered as well as our charity work and community involvement. It was nice to see that she is just as keen as we all are to see The Earl Spencer become the hub of the community in Wandsworth.”
The Earl Spencer is counting down the days to New Year’s Eve, where they will be holding a party to ring in the new year with everyone in the community. As well as their festive and New Year plans, the pub also has its weekly Pub Quiz every Sunday at 7pm, and why not come in beforehand for a delicious Sunday roast?
