A £350,000 investment into the South East London-based Sparrowhawk, has seen the pub receive a modern refurbishment as well as a brand new extensive menu of craft food and drink, to bring a whole new dining experience to the popular pub.
An overhaul of the appearance of the pub includes a layout change which has seen new seating added, along with new booths brought in to make for a more interactive experience, making guests feel at home at the Sparrowhawk.
There is also a great range of craft drinks available from the pub, to enjoy with friends and family, with four local craft beers on rotation at the bar, alongside five national favourites which will always be available to guests. To see the full range available at the Sparrowhawk, guests can simply download the free-to-use Untappd app.
Now open for breakfast from 9am Monday to Saturday and from 10am on Sunday, the reinvigorated pub will offer a wonderful new breakfast selection, including full English breakfasts, crumpets, waffles and quesadillas. Another highlight of the new menu is the pub’s bottomless brunch, which offers a selection of wraps, burgers, artisan hand-stretched pizzas and flavoursome wings, alongside a large choice of cocktails, prosecco, draught pints and gins for guests to enjoy.
Speaking on the new offering, the Sparrowhawk’s General Manager Nick Thompsett said “We are delighted with the refurbishment, the pub is looking great. Our fantastic new menu offers a fantastic range of dishes to appease all pallets, whether it be our tasty sharing dishes such as the crowd pleaser which offers a feast of meats, cheese, and nachos, or our traditional dishes like fish and chips, we are sure that it is going to be a hit with guests as we reopen our doors.”
A true peoples’ pub, the Sparrowhawk has also seen an overhaul of its previous entertainment, with changes made to its music line-up. Monday night will become the pub’s new open mic night, where they look for the best local talent. Saturday sees weekly live bands take to the stage, whilst Sundays will host monthly Jazz bands. Elsewhere the pub’s popular quiz night will return on Thursday nights.
Nick continued “I am really excited to be welcoming more and more local music talent into the pub, as we look to entertain our guests well into the night. We are also looking to work with initiatives in the local area and have identified South Norwood Community Kitchen as a cause that we would love to get involved with.”
Based just twenty minutes away from Crystal Palace Football Club’s Selhurst Park, the popular venue has had nine TVs installed with BT and Sky Sports showing, to make it the go-to sports entertainment pub in the area. Along with a new speaker system, that means there really isn’t a better venue to enjoy matchday atmospheres through the week or weekend.
The pub’s name was chosen, due to the abundance of sparrows at the Crystal Palace in Victorian times.
Join the team at the Sparrowhawk on Wednesday 5 October where the pub will be hosting its grand opening event, details of which can be found on the pub’s social media page in the coming week.
