Old Street pub, The William Blake, has been transformed into Sports Bar & Grill Old Street after a £600,000 investment.
Sports Bar & Grill Old Street will showcase a number of bookable booths with table service and individual TVs, for groups to enjoy the sport of their choice. A full size shuffleboard table, four pool tables and big widescreen HDTVs throughout the venue will ensure the atmosphere is fit for sport all day, every day.
A striking black exterior with hints of red and white complement the modernised interior which features wood and metal shades throughout with touches of neon. Sport inspired wall illustrations and memorabilia add colour and warmth to give a more premium feel to those within.
The food menu is also a new and features all the perfect game-time foods. The party starts with breakfast, served until noon every day, and including all the classics, from the mandatory Full English –also available in a vegetarian version- to Avo and eggs, Eggs Benedict, Waffles or pancakes. Four beef and four chicken burgers are now the centre of the menu line-up. The star of the show is the Messi Dribbler, a double patty beast with honey bacon, cheese and a cheesy pickle beef burger topping. However, the Fiery Bronco -with cheese, chorizo, jalapenos and Frank’s Hot Sauce-, and the Chicken Waffle Burger, are firm contenders to the trophy. Hand-stretched sourdough pizzas are new to the game and include toppings from simple Margherita to BBQ Burnt Ends or even Cheeseburger! Groups can enjoy small plates, sharing platters or a Make your own burger box with 6 bacon cheeseburgers and 6 toppings for friends to personalise their buns to their taste.
And amongst the meat feast of ribs, burgers, steaks and chicken wings, Team Vegan will be happy to discover their own section of plant-based delights. Worthy of note are the two vegan burgers, made with B12 meat-free patties, vegan sesame seeded buns, vegan mayo and optional Jackfruit topping.
On the drinks front, a great selection of craft beers and cask ales, such as Brooklyn Lager and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, as well as a game changing cocktails and a perfect serve of spirits and mixers will tempt every taste bud.
Sports Bar & Grill Old Street is opening on Sunday 10th February, ready for some great sport fixtures, from England and France in the Six Nations to European football and Premier League. General Manager Paul Oxenham will be celebrating the opening with a grand launch party from 5pm on Tuesday 19th February while Liverpool and Bayern face each other in the Champions League. Those who pre-book a table for the night will get a free drink and a taster of the Meat Combo or Make your own Burger box to share with their friends.
