Libby Payne, Deputy Manager of Squares pub on The Poultry in Nottingham, has raised over £200 for Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
With the help of her team at Squares, Libby organised an evening of live music with popular local band ‘The Electric Bears’ performing their range of ‘electrifying’ funk, soul, pop and rock tunes on Friday 15th March.
The team at the pub collected donations in buckets throughout the evening and customers were encouraged to take part in a raffle to help raise money, for which Libby teamed up with Brewdog and other local businesses. Prizes included some beers and other merchandise from Brewdog, two tickets to Trent Bridge Cricket Stadium and a tour of Wychwood Brewery.
Libby said: “It was a really amazing evening and I couldn’t have pulled it off without my amazing team or our incredibly generous customers! We’ve left the collection buckets on the bar and people are still kindly donating.
“We decided we want to donate the money we’ve raised to the Nottingham Hospitals Charity in recognition of all the incredible work that they do. It’s a cause close to everyone’s heart and helping our community’s sick children is something we can all get behind.”
The event comes as part of Libby’s participation in Stonegate Pub Company’s ‘Accelerator Programme’. The course is part of its award-winning development programme, designed to give its people the skills and knowledge they need to succeed and proceed within the company.
