The Blue Post, Stockton welcomed Alex Cunningham, MP for Stockton North to the pub recently for a visit, where he was able to see the pub’s new look following its recent refurbishment.

The pub has recently had an £184,000 investment by Stonegate Group, which has seen enhancements being made to the interior and exterior as well as its new name. The Blue Post’s garden is not only perfect for the summer months but will be cosy on colder evenings with heated covered areas and festooned lighting. The inside of the pub has been given a new lease of life as well as the seating area being refurbished.

There is an extensive drinks list at The Blue Post, so you will be sure to find a refreshing beverage. The bar houses local and national beers, wines and spirits. If you prefer a non-alcoholic drink then the pub has some options for you to choose from, as well as having classic soft drinks and barista-style hot drinks.

Alex Cunningham, MP for Stockton North, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to The Blue Post, the recent investment it has had, has really made it into a pub for the local community. Operator Laura kindly showed me around the pub and talked me through what has been done and her plans for the future of the pub. I believe this is a true hub for the local community to come together for any occasion. I look forward to my next visit to The Blue Post.”

Laura Buckley, Operator of The Blue Post said: “It was lovely to meet with Mr Cunningham and show him around the pub’s new look. The Blue Post is at the heart of the Stockton community, and it was great to be able to talk to him about ways in which everyone can get involved with what we have going on at the pub.

The Blue Post is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company which won the 2022 Best community Operator title in the Publican Awards. The pub aims to be at the centre of the local community, welcoming all. There is always lots going on at the pub including the screening of all live sports across a number of large TVs throughout the pub.

Laura added: “The pubs makeover is brilliant, and the investment has made this such an exciting time for the pub. Sport is a big thing for the pub, and we always have live matches playing on the TVs, everyone is more than welcome to come in and watch the action. It is so nice to see returning and new faces coming in, we are a real community pub and all the support we receive, we are so thankful for. If you have not already then do come in and see us.”
