Team members from the UKs’ largest pub operator, Stonegate Group, have been participating in a three day 100km walk along the famous Jurassic Coastline to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) and Motor Neurone Disease Scotland (MND Scotland).

Tuesday, 28 March, Wednesday, 29 March, and Thursday, 30 March saw Stonegate Group Area Managers and General Managers from London, Kent, Essex, Norwich, and Sussex get their walking boots on, to be at one with the outdoors, walking around 30 miles each day raising money for the two charities.

Luke Jones, Operations Director at Stonegate Group, said: “The team and I are very excited to have taken part in this mammoth walk to raise money for the incredible MNDA and MND Scotland. We have supported each other on the walk and are proud to have challenged ourselves with this activity. It was also nice to see the beautiful coastline of the South Coast.”

The Jurassic Coastline walk is part of Stonegate Group’s ongoing corporate fundraising partnership with the MNDA and MND Scotland. Since the announcement last year, Stonegate Group has raised upward of £250,000 for the charities, with activities and initiatives undertaken by its staff in pubs, bars, venues and at head office and with operational support teams.

It is estimated that around 5,000 adults in the UK are currently living with motor neurone disease and on average six people are diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease each day. MNDA and MND Scotland aim to improve access to care and provide information and support for those living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Both charities fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings a cure closer, whilst raising awareness of the disease.

Luke added: “I am a big advocate for charity fundraising and each year I take part in an initiative, so it is great to be supporting MNDA and MND Scotland alongside my amazing, dedicated colleagues at Stonegate. We are all very grateful for the support and donations that we have received from everyone already. We have raised over £44,000 – the team and I cannot wait to celebrate our success in raising funds for a worthy cause!”
