Love is certainly in the air this week… well, of course, it’s Valentine’s Day!
But those searching for that special someone, should look no further than Slug and Lettuce in Wilmslow this Valentine’s Day night, Thursday 14 February.
The bar on Water Lane in Wilmslow is hosting a special speed dating singles evening and is hoping several of its customers will meet their dream partner.
Customers are invited to come along and join in the fun. Tickets for the event are just £4 a person which includes a glass of champagne on arrival, with all proceeds from the event going to Slug and Lettuce’s chosen charity, Help for Heroes. The following day, this Friday 15 February, the bar will be hosting a raffle for the charity, with superb prizes including bottles of champagne and vouchers donated by local businesses.
“We’re really hoping some of our customers meet the guy or girl of their dreams here on Thursday night and we’re pulling out all the stops to make the night as romantic, but also light-hearted and fun as possible. Even if people are not lucky in love this time, it’s guaranteed to be a brilliant night for our guests” said Georgina Yates, Slug and Lettuce’s General Manager.
“We’ve a big Friday night planned too and a fantastic raffle with lots of superb prizes lined up”, she continued. “The raffle will be drawn at 8pm, after which the night really starts with our late night party DJ hitting the decks.”
Each of the seventy-one Slug and Lettuce bars up and down the country will be hosting its own fundraising event or challenge for Help for Heroes over the course of the next few weeks. “Our bars are fantastic supporters of charity and for many of them, they have a special local cause close to their hearts”, said Nicola Stuart, Slug and Lettuce’s Brand Development Manager, “But every year, for one month, all the bars come together and choose a single charity to fundraise for. For the second year in a row our managers have chosen Help for Heroes. Last year we raised just over £21,000 and hope that this year we can beat that target.”
