Old Bank pub in Sutton is to welcome Talk Sport’s Mike Parry to officially re-open the pub on Friday 13th February, following a ten day refurbishment.
The journalist and radio presenter, who is a regular customer at the Old Bank, will join general manager Gail Follin, her team and fellow customers at a special reception to celebrate the re-launch from 5pm. Guests will able to enjoy a glass of bubbly and canapés as local singer Charlotte Donovan performs live. Doors open to the public from 7pm with DJ-led entertainment continuing throughout the evening.
The traditional Victorian pub, close to the station, is a popular destination for sports enthusiasts and offers some of the best sports viewing facilities in town. Additional TV screens installed both inside the pub and outside in the pub’s garden, showing both Sky and BT Sports, will give customers first class viewing. The pub’s refresh will give it lighter feel, highlighting the charm of the building, whilst in the hidden garden to the rear of the pub, new astroturf and terraced areas await the finer Spring weather.
The Old Bank will continue to offer great value pub food, award-winning wines and cask ales, along with an extensive cocktail list which includes favourites Long Island Iced Tea and Mojitos, available at two for the price of one all day every day. There will be a choice of six cask ales including Timothy Taylor’s Boltmaker, St Austell’s Tribute and Fuller’s London Pride.
It will open from 10am serving a superb selection of dishes to suit the time of day or purpose of visit, whether a mid-morning stop, lunchtime fix or evening meal. With a choice of brunch dishes, sandwiches, wraps and sharing platters, customers can pop for a burger and a drink from just £6.75; or enjoy two meals for £7.95 from a selection of ten traditional pub favourites such as steak pie and cauliflower and cheese tart. The lighter 500 calorie menu leaves room for the indulgent desserts that are offered two-for-one every day of the week.
“Mike has long been a fan of the Old Bank, not least for our great sports coverage, and so we are delighted to welcome him along to the pub on 13th to officially re-open it,” said Gail.
Old Bank will open Monday to Saturday from 10am closing at 11pm on Monday to Wednesday and at midnight on Thursday to and Saturday. Sunday opening times are 12pm to 10:30pm.
