An ecstatic crowd of dignitaries, locals and beer lovers are expected as the popular and hugely iconic Tally Ho pub in Finchley reopens after a £750,000 refurbishment Thursday 1stJune.
To the calling of a Town Crier, Deputy Mayor Val Duschinsky alongside local Councillors, groups and societies, Campaign for Real Ale, journalists, and loyal regulars will gather to welcome the huge investment by new owners Stonegate Pub Company whilst securing fifty-three jobs at the flagship site.
“Finchley has regenerated so time for the 90-year-old Tally Ho to make sure all three floors of the beautiful landmark offer the diversity to appeal to our varied customer base,” said manager Paul Mulcrone.
The VIP will show off the stripped back original character layered with traditional and contemporary touches. For the first time in over twenty years, music and sports has been reintroduced whilst the middle storey is styled for relaxing and dining and the ‘Bolt Hole’ becomes a refined upper floor with the added extra of sports viewing.
“The launch is a taster of what’s new,” added Paul. “Planks of British orientated food, a free glass of fizz or ale and a bit of lively rock ‘n’ roll bingo. We’re opening to a new market whilst retaining loyal customers.”
A pub renowned for real ale, the legacy continues with national treasures and local brews from the likes of New River and Tring. Cask cider and craft beers Blue Moon and Punk IPA join a copious range of gins and wines.
Sky and BT sports across twenty screens with pre-bookable booths, complete with their own screens and sports table service, creates the wow with the Champion’s League final 3rdJune a show case event.
The ‘Kings Feast’ food menu, offers over 100 combinations of quality dishes from sharing planks to traditional fish & chips, fourteen options in the two meals for £8.99and dishes under 600 calories. The ‘man vs food’ burger challenge is set to create some theatre with four 6oz beef burgers, cheese and bacon, chicken schnitzel and chorizo served with double chips!
Nominated charity for the year, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice charity will be celebrating as well with proceeds from the Rock ‘n’ Roll bingo going to the cause.

Stonegate Pub Company bought The Tally Ho, one of JD Wetherspoon’s original pubs, expelling fears that its days servicing the local community were over.
