Team members at The Admiral Rodney, Southwell are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Friday 24 June to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association.

John, Shauna, Jack and Hayley part of The Admiral Rodney will be pushing themselves to complete the Three Peaks Challenge on Friday 24 June. The team have given themselves five weeks to train and prepare for the challenge. Around working at the pub, the team have been going on lots of solo walks, with Shauna upping her miles with walks around the local area, and Hayley and Jack completing Kinder Scout. The team have booked in a few more walks before the challenge, including walks in the Peak District, Winn Hill and Kinder Scout again, to increase the amount of hill walking they are doing. This challenge not only requires the team to prepare physically but mentally too, which they are doing by keeping positive and using the power of belief that they can achieve what they have set out to do. The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge will involve the team conquering the peaks of Pen-y-ghen, Whernside and Ingleborough within 12 hours.

The MND Association focuses improving access to care and providing information and support for people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and MND Scotland does the same for those living in Scotland. Both charities fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings a cure closer. They campaign and raise awareness so the needs of people with MND across the UK are recognised and addressed by wider society. People with MND, their families and carers are at the heart of everything they do.

John Stone, General Manager of The Admiral Rodney, said: “Myself and my team wanted to push ourselves with our fundraising efforts, both physically and mentally, and the Three Peaks Challenge will do just that. We are all trying to prepare as much as possible around our busy schedules, but the thing that will get us through this the most is encouraging each other. Everyone is welcome to follow our journey, and if you would like to sponsor us, we would be very grateful.”
