Tuesday 10th October 7pm-8pm
The Angelic in Islington is hosting a Burlesque class on Tuesday 10th October, between 7pm-8pm, to raise awareness for World Mental Health Week and raise money for the SANE Charity.
To shine a light on mental health charities and how they help communities, The Angelic is welcoming mental health advocate Priscilla Silcock, who wrote a book on how Burlesque helped her with her own journey with mental health. Priscilla will be teaching an informative and communicative Burlesque dance class, with the proceeds made going to SANE, an independent, Islington based charity dedicated to removing the stigma around mental health and providing a helpline to those in crisis.
Burlesque is a theatrical style of dance designed to tell a story. During the class, participants can expect to learn a variety of empowering and liberating movements, which can help boost mood and communication. Get ready to strut with style and pose with confidence at this feel-good class and for those who can’t make it in person, there is also an online class being held over Zoom.
General Manager Giulio, alongside the rest of The Angelic team, is always there to support the local community and jumped at the opportunity to get involved with fundraising for SANE.
Giulio Cassini, General Manager at The Angelic, stated, “I am extremely excited to be welcoming Priscilla to The Angelic to raise money for such an important cause that’s dear to mine and the rest of the teams’ hearts. The charity is incredible in what they do, and I’m thrilled to be supporting them. We can’t wait to see everyone’s moves and watch everyone enjoy the class.”
The proceeds made will help SANE keep their all-important helpline operating as well as help to fund vital research into mental health and campaign towards better understanding and acceptance of mental health.
