The Bedford in Southampton To Reopen After £275,000 Refurb
The Bedford is set to reopen on Sunday 16 September, following a massive £275,000 investment from managing operator Stonegate Pub Company.
The pub will boast a new look and a new offer when it reopens. Customers can expect a more laid-back feel to the venue, with features like free WiFi, charging points for phones and laptops, as well as printing services, geared towards the budding student presence in the area.
Local craft beers and Lilley’s ciders in a range of flavours will be on offer, and The Bedford will also have a new and exciting menu, with something for everyone, especially vegans. The menu will include dishes made from the newest, on-trend vegan and vegetarian ingredient, jackfruit – with a Vegan Burger featuring BBQ pulled jackfruit and Jackfruit Bao Buns expected to make particular waves.
Ten HD TVs showing Sky sports, plus a pool table, retro computer games such as Pac-Man and 30 board games, ranging from chess to Connect 4, means there will be plenty to keep customers entertained.
Alongside the new dishes and drinks, several great deals have been introduced. The MORE Card scheme, which is available as a mobile App or card, normally offers 10 points for every £1 spent in the bar, but on Mondays customers can double their points, receiving 20 points for every £1 spent on food or drinks. Every 200 points saved gives customers £2 to spend on food and drink in participating pubs across the UK.
Tuesdays are ‘Pancake Tuesdays’ when pancakes are priced at just 25p all day and ‘Clash of Cans’ is on, when ‘Martinny’ cocktails (cocktails served in a can) or cans of craft beer are on offer for just £3. On ‘Wing Wednesdays’ chicken wings are only 25p per wing all day. The Speed Quiz is on Thursdays, Friday night is ‘Craft and Cocktail Night’, with craft beers and cocktails on offer for £3.50, and Sunday is Retro Games night.
