A Kent pub has re-opened its doors to showcase local talent, live sport, and a brand new look for its customers.

The Bounty on Bligh Way, Rochester, temporarily closed in January so owner Craft Union could transform the pub ahead of new operator Kelly Earle taking the reins.

The £300,000 project has seen the pub refurbished throughout with the internal area remodelled and redesigned, new lighting installed, 13 new HD TVs installed for live sport and an outside seating area added.

Live sport will be high on the agenda with The Bounty open in time for the remainder of this season’s Six Nations Championship. With Sky Sports and BT Sport on offer customers will also be able to enjoy the very best in football, rugby, boxing, horse racing, and much, much more.

Kelly is also looking to recruit teams to make the most of the pub’s new pool table and dart board.

DJs and live music are also set to be a cornerstone of the pub’s new line-up with blues band The Zac Schulze Gang helping to get the party started at The Bounty’s re-opening launch weekend (February 24 to 26).

Kelly said: “We will be doing lots more live music and showcasing local talent. We’ll be booking a variety of styles of performers because we want to put on acts that all of our customers want to see.”

Kelly and her team are also putting their support firmly behind local charity Club Ausome, which exists to help children and families with additional needs. The Bounty’s opening weekend is set to include a fundraising raffle for the cause along with a game of Rock n Roll Bingo.

Kelly continued: “I have worked in hospitality for 20 years and coming to The Bounty was just too good an opportunity to turn down. I am really excited to get started now. The refurbishment is incredible and everything we are doing here will give the pub a new lease of life – we can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors.”

The pub is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards. It invested around £300,000 in The Bounty so it can provide top notch hospitality to customers.

It provides a broad range of drinks, including cask ales, and is dog-friendly too.

Keep up to date with all the events and offers on the pub’s website and follow on Facebook.
