The Commercial pub in Leeds, has reopened following its transformation from a pub attached to an historic hotel to a cosy and bright destination for socialising with family, friends and colleagues.

Award winning pub company Craft Union have invested a fantastic £194k in the venue in addition to working with a new operator who is eager to meet more of the pub’s regulars and re-establish The Commercial at the beating heart of the community. Operator Ed Whittingham said:

“I am hugely looking forward to being a part of this community and sharing all of the recent enhancements to this unique pub with its regulars old and new!”

What’s more, the pub is due to celebrate its new indoor and outdoor look during the Coronation weekend! The whole pub team are eager to invite the community to share in a weekend-long launch party on the 12/13/14 May, featuring everything quintessentially British in honour of the Coronation!

The launch will feature daytime activities as well as entertainment in the evening from a live DJ and a surprise tribute act. This is just a taste of what is to come, as entertainment will be a focus of the pub’s new offering. Sundays will see a DJ and Rock and Roll Bingo come to The Commercial, and every Tuesday there will be a Tombola ‘Bonus Ball’ with free drinks for winners!

The action spills-out into the garden, with a new TV screen nestled among a revamped outdoor seating area of over 20 tables, and screens will be widely accessible throughout the pub. Sporting fans will be pleased to know that all big games will reliably be screened during opening times at The Commercial.

Known for its welcoming bar area and popular beer garden, the Commercial is part of a larger history connected with Industrial era Leeds and has been a much-loved pub for generations within its community.

A vibrant new colour scheme now also features on the pub’s frontage and the garden boasts some beautiful lighting to be used at day and night-time parties.

Added to appealing décor up-grades are a new pool table and illuminated darts throw area, which will tempt even the less sporty among us!

Drinks favourites such as Carling, Strongbow and John Smiths will be offered at a competitive price and served with a smile by Ed’s enthusiastic team.

Ed continued: “I am Leeds born and bred, and so it’s great to grow a business that serves a local community and provides so much across the board. My Regional Manager has been really behind me too, and I’m confident that we can continue to offer more great drinks offers, events and, of course, a warm welcome to the community.”

You can find out more about all the new additions at The Commercial on the pub’s social media and website.
