Popular neighbourhood favourite, the Lime Tree in Peterborough is set to re-open its doors this May 2nd, after receiving an uplifting renovation throughout, following a six-figure investment from fastest growing operator led pub company, Craft Union. The pub will host a huge range of new entertainment, including day-time events, music nights, showcasing local talent, and is set to host a grand launch party across the 10th, 11th and 12th May to mark the much-anticipated re-opening.
The Lime Tree is operated by couple Marie and Mitch, who have been working in the hospitality industry for over 10 years. Being musicians themselves, the pair have loved bringing their musical touch to the venue. Due to their hard work and fantastic organising of live music events since they took over the pub in August last year, locals now enjoy this spot as a popular hub for not only up and coming local bands but the more established Peterborough favourites.
When the venue (their local) became available 6 months ago, the married couple jumped at the chance to run it and have done an impressive job of engaging the community, with their events and have plenty of plans ahead for their fundraising events for local charitable organisations with the massive success of their first Pe4fest, another will be held in August.
Guests will be able to enjoy a huge range of new offerings within the pub, with the space having been renovated from top to bottom. The interior has seen a full uplift, with new seating, a brand-new colour scheme and new flooring. As well as this, the pub now houses two new pool tables for guests to enjoy, and not one, not two, but three brand-new darts boards for any locals who fancy a bit of friendly competition! The pub also hopes to hold darts competitions for the whole of Peterborough.
The previously un-useable garden area has been completely transformed into a summer suntrap to welcome even more families with a fully renovated deck, new seating, and most notably, a brand-new HD screen outside, so guests can catch all the upcoming sports action this summer, al-fresco, with refreshing drink in hand to top it off – just in time for the Euros!
Marie & Mitch, Operators at The Lime Tree said, “We can’t wait to welcome our locals back to the new-look pub. We were so excited to take on this site last summer, and following the investment, it’s coming back even better than we could’ve imagined. We’re really excited to be soundtracking our guests’ summer weekends and can’t wait to see some familiar and new faces at our upcoming events.”
As well as the lounge, garden and events room all having undergone transformative renovations, the pub will also now show TNT and Sky Sports across its many HD screens, so whether you’re visiting for football, tennis, cricket or rugby, you can catch it all here.
As well as a range of day-time entertainment, Marie and Mitch will be hosting music evenings every Saturday and will bring in their aptly named ‘From 3 at The Tree’ Sunday Sessions, where guests can enjoy chilled, acoustic music from 3pm onwards on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer months alongside watching all the Euro games.
As guests can expect, the pubs grand launch party will host an array of different upcoming local artists across the weekend of the 10th, 11th and 12th May. Friday 10th, will see Marie and Mitch themselves performing with their fabulous houseband The Tour*Ettes, from 9pm onwards, with local Reggae band Zeb Rootz performing from 9pm on the Saturday evening. Guests can look forward to the first sunday session from 2pm on 12th May, with 3 acoustic acts: Joe Drury, Dan ‘The Piano Man’ and River City Hustle taking the stage outside to soundtrack your chilled-out Sunday.
