Three cheers for the popular Olde Hatte pub in Huddersfield which is open again following a £135,000 makeover offering the best of British pub hospitality alongside great TV sports and live music.
With its prime location close to the train station and bus station on Trinity Street, this bustling town centre pub is much-loved by the Huddersfield community. Thanks to these latest works it has a bright future ahead too.
It combines tradition and character with modern day comforts and tech to bring outstanding TV sports viewing alongside in-house pool and darts, plus ever-popular live music and entertainment.
Doors have re-opened following a complete makeover inside and out to give locals a friendly community pub to enjoy seven days a week. It boasts a tempting range of beers and cask ales as well as wide selection of lagers, ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks. There are multiple big screens throughout so customers can now watch Sky Sports and BT Sport in HD inside and out in the beer garden. High quality viewing and audio really bring match days to life at The Olde Hatte now. A new darts playing area and pool table add to the sporting entertainment on offer. Known for its live music, fans should keep an eye on the pub’s social channels to see what’s scheduled.
There are new faces at the bar, Tammy Walker and Nathan Farrar, to welcome guests. They have moved from Clekheaton, bringing with them several years’ experience of running community pubs.
Tammy said: “This is an exciting time for us and The Olde Hatte. It’s great to be here for the next chapter in this amazing pub‘s long history. The future is really bright for this pub and it’s great to meet the locals now we are open. It has lots of character and a warm and welcoming feel. It is a real gem.”
The pub is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards. It invested £135,000 in The Olde Hatte during its recent refurbishment so the Huddersfield community can enjoy this friendly neighbourhood pub for years to come. It has retained all the charm and character of the long-serving pub and added some modern-day comforts.
Nathan added: “This is a pub for everyone, for every day of the week and for all occasions. It has a great past and a wonderful future ahead. The latest tech means we can show TV sports but at the same time we have the traditional pub games so customers can darts here too. Inside and out has been refreshed and all the new seating makes it even more comfortable. We have a big screen out in the beer garden plus more seating so you can watch a match and make the most of the weather. Live sport and live music are brilliant and the atmosphere is buzzing!
“Come in and see for yourselves! Sit back and enjoy a drink and a catch up with friends, family and neighbours. We are here for all the community, offering good quality, good value drinks with great service. All are welcome and the pub is dog-friendly too.”
The drinks menu has been extended with a wide choice of local, national and internationally renowned beers, wines, ciders and spirits, a choice of cocktails, plus soft drinks and low and no alcohol drinks. Customers don’t even have to leave their seat to order their favourite tipples as they can place their order via the Craft Union app and their drinks will be brought to them.
