A Friday night full of fun and laughter saw the Thorp Arch based pub, The Pax Inn, raise over £2000 for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) last weekend.

The evening included a guest appearance from non-other than Leeds Rhinos star Jack Broadbent, the 5’ 11” professional Rugby League player being interviewed with questions also coming from the floor. Prizes on offer in the auction on the night included a signed Rhinos shirt, and four hospitality tickets to their next game at Headingley Stadium, kindly donated by former Leeds Rhinos star Jamie Peacock.

The team at The Pax Inn do not plan on stopping there though with fundraising, with a coffee morning planned for June 27th to raise even more funds.

Claire King, Licensee of The Pax Inn said “MNDA is a cause very close to our hearts, being long term supporters of Leeds Rhinos, we’ve been very humbled by Rob Burrows story, a Leeds Rhinos legend who suffers himself from MNDA, which encouraged us to fundraise for this cause. Of course, we want to try and raise as much money as possible through the generosity our fantastic customers at The Pax Inn. We’ve been running the pub since November last year, so we are very excited for a busy summer and seeing our customers enjoy our beer garden in the sun.

Claire and her partner Steven will be handing over the cheque to MNDA at a coming up Leeds Rhinos game, so make sure keep an eye out for them at half-time.

The Pax Inn is a traditional pub located in Wetherby, with a beer garden, a fantastic range of beers, ciders and wines as well as being dog friendly.

Celebrate the upcoming Queen’s Jubilee Weekend at The Pax Inn, where they will be hosting a Beer Festival to mark the special occasion.
