The Phoenix in Southsea is celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee next weekend, with a street party filled with activities for all the family!

Sunday 5 June will see a range of entertainment at the Duncan Road based pub, with music ongoing throughout the day from local bands such as The Spoils, Shep Woolley, and The Pompey Pluckers, along with Morris Dancers, Magicians, a Children’s Disco, and a charity raffle for ticket holders to enjoy.

The street has already been decorated in bunting ready for the party, which will also host a BBQ, an ice cream truck and a range of refreshing drinks on offer to enjoy whilst soaking up the sun.

With the allocated 400 tickets already sold the pub Licensee Kath Birch said “We’re so excited to welcome the local community to our street party, to celebrate such an iconic event. A lot of planning has been put into place, to ensure that we have plenty to keep everyone entertained across the weekend. This is our third street party, however, we’re looking to surpass all other events to make this the biggest celebration possible.”

Kath will be celebrating her own anniversary this summer, as she would have run the Southsea pub for 20 years come August.

The Phoenix is a traditional English seaside pub, with an award-winning garden area in which dogs are welcomed. The bar serves a range of beers, ciders and wines to suit all tastebuds.
