The Quart Pot in Wickford is introducing a taste of summer to the pub by hosting a four-week cider festival from Tuesday 14th August until Sunday 9th September.
The festival will showcase a number of ciders including some specially created ciders by Glastonbury based cider-maker, the Orchard Pig, with flavours including Forest Fruits, Sour Cherry and Mint and Lime.
Also available during the festival will be favourites such as Magners Original; Magners Pear; Brothers Toffee Apple and a range of flavours from the Swedish cider Rekorderlig, including Mango and Raspberry; Strawberry and Lime and Ginger and Honey.
Ruth Turner, from the Stonegate Pub Company, the company that owns and operates The Quart Pot 4said: “We work with our suppliers to make sure our pubs have a wide and varied cider range, catering for variety of tastes. Cider has become a really popular drink and we’re delighted to be able to offer our customers ciders from the Orchard Pig which is a relatively small cider maker. People may not have had the chance to taste their ciders before but I’d strongly recommend trying one or two.
“We’re encouraging our pubs to get feedback from their customers about what drinks they would like to see on the bar, be it cider or real ale and we’ll try and source them. We’re particularly interested in offering drinks from local suppliers wherever we can.”
