The MP for East Worthing and Shoreham recently visited the Smugglers Return in Worthing to find out more about the local pub.

Part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, the Smugglers Return recently had a £265,000 investment which Tim Loughton MP was able to hear first-hand about from Operator Andy Deeprose and the team.

Whilst on a tour of the new-look pub, Andy was talking to Tim about the changes that have been made, including a modernised interior with new fixtures and fittings, a new sports offering with darts boards and a pool table installed and a revamped entertainment offering.

As well as the recent renovation, Andy and the team discussed with Tim being a part of Craft Union and their philosophy of putting pubs back at the heart of their local communities. The Smugglers Return is a space for all, with entertainment and live sports throughout the week, and an extensive drinks menu the pub has something for everyone.

Andy said: “It was great having Tim visit us at the Smugglers, it was nice to show him how much it has transformed since his last visit to the site. Since reopening our doors, guests have been giving compliments and we are so pleased to be welcoming every in.

“Speaking with Tim about our involvement in the community and current affairs was very positive, and as a community pub, we are pleased to support you all, as you continually support us. We hope that Tim can visit again soon, where he can find out more about our wonderful venue.”

Tim Loughton MP said: “My visit to the Smugglers Return was thoroughly enjoyable, I have visited the site previously, but it was nice to see its fresh look after having work done a few months ago. Andy is very passionate about the venue, and it is great to hear about the plans he has for the venue’s new chapter.
