Now part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, which is current title holder of the Best Community Pub Operator and is famous for establishing pubs in the heart of their communities, The Star in Roffey has reopened its doors following an impressive £182,000 refurbishment.

Being transformed, with a new look and feel inside and out, The Star is the epitome of a community pub. With the latest in audio-visual technology, the pub is the place to catch all the sporting action on BT Sport and Sky across ten TV screens around the pub.

The refurbishment also brings a new operator, Lyndsey Wilson, to The Star. With a wealth of experience in hospitality, locals may recognise her from behind the bar at The Railway in nearby Crawley. Speaking on the refurbishment, Lyndsey said “The feedback from our guests during our reopening week has been great. Our new look has given the pub a new lease of life and it is great to see so many locals enjoy the pub. Myself and the team are having a great time getting to know everyone and we cannot wait to work with the community in supporting local events and causes in the coming weeks and months.”

The investment has also brought in a new pool table and illuminated dart board, adding a perfect opportunity for some healthy competition between friends and family. Further entertainment at the pub comes from its exciting line-up throughout the week. Starting the week sees the pub’s Monday Race Days and evening Bingo Night, Tuesdays host a Golden Oldies afternoon and Games Night, Wednesday Nights are Free Pool and Pizza Night followed by Thursday’s Live Music Open Mic performance. Across the weekend Friday nights kicks off with Karaoke, followed by Saturday Night Discos and Sunday Afternoons of Karaoke.

Lyndsey added “We’ve got a fantastic offering of entertainment on offer here at The Star. Between our events throughout the week to our weekend music and live sport there really is something for everyone in the community.”
