Popular local, The Victoria Chesterfield recently welcomed MP for Chesterfield, Toby Perkins for a visit following its significant six-figure investment from the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company.

Lee McMahon, Operator of The Victoria, alongside the pub team warmly welcomed Toby upon his arrival and was eager to show him all that the pub has to offer following its complete revamp.

The transformation included a new bar fully stocked with an extensive range of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails to cater to all tastes, and new furnishings and fittings which have created an inviting space for the community to gather with family and friends.

Customers are also able to enjoy the refreshed garden, which features lots of new seating, AstroTurf, and string lights, perfect for drinks in the autumn and winter evenings.

As well as the complete overhaul inside and out, the Victoria’s entertainment schedule was revitalised, now featuring regular karaoke and DJ nights, and a huge selection of live sports screenings.

During the visit, Toby and Lee discussed the wonderful local community and all of Lee’s past and future fundraising efforts to support local and national causes. As well, Lee was able to mention local issues and bond with Toby over sports.

Before heading off, Toby was able to get behind the bar and try his hand at pouring a pint, with expert advice from Lee and the team.

Operator Lee said “It was great to have Toby visit us and give him a tour of our wonderful pub. He was very pleased with all the work that had been carried out and was very interested in our offerings to the Chesterfield community. It was great to get him behind the bar and we look forward to the next time he visits.”

Toby Perkins MP said “It was a pleasure visiting The Victoria, and it is clear that the improvements haven’t just improved the setting but have met with the support of regulars too. It was great to hear of another business committed to investing in Chesterfield, every new investment is another vote of confidence in our town despite the pressures we are all aware of.

Pubs are vital to our communities and town centres, providing much needed jobs, boosting the local economy and acting as social hubs, so it is a real pleasure to see this pub doing so well, with Lee at the helm for seven years and counting. I look forward to popping in again soon for a pint.”
