Beloved high-street staple, The William Morgan in Prestatyn is set to re-open its doors this February 21st, following a huge 6-figure investment from the award-winning Stonegate Group. The new-look pub will also host a grand launch party from Thursday 22nd February, through to Sunday 25th February.

The venue has undergone a full renovation, with brand new decoration throughout, giving the pub a refreshed, cosy and welcoming feel. The bathrooms have also been renovated to a high standard, and the brand-new TVs are set to create an enhanced live sport experience, just in time for the summer of sporting events!

The pub was built in the late 1800s, and is named William Morgan after a bishop from St Asaph, who was famed for translating the bible into Welsh in the 16th century. The space has been transformed many times throughout the years, from confectioners, to café, but has remained a popular local pub since 2007.

A community hub, well-known for its dog friendly position, provides a dog water fountain and treats completely free for furry friends, and will also aim to partner with a local dog-friendly Charity in the area.

As well as the redecoration throughout, guests can now enjoy the upcoming summer sunshine in their extensive outdoor space, with new fixed seating to the front of the main building, and their ‘little sun trap’ beer garden to the rear. The pub will also take part in a book-swap initiative and will be launching Sunday Roasts as part of their menu upon re-opening.

General Manager of The William Morgan, Zoe Platt said, “Taking this site through an investment has always been a huge personal goal of mine. It’s taken a long time to build the right team, drive our standards and make sure we execute consistently at a high level, and in the last 12 months we’ve finally cracked it! We come highly recommended through all of our Feedback and regularly get awarded a Travellers Choice Award on TripAdvisor. As a Team we’re also really passionate about trying to give back and have done lots over the years to raise money for charities, both local and National, and have raised over £1000 for various charities in the last year, and have also hosted annual Toy Collections every Christmas for North Wales Superkids since 2018, as well as supporting the Prestatyn & Meliden Food Bank over Christmas for the last couple of years. I can’t wait to welcome all our locals back to the new-look venue – I couldn’t be more pleased!”

Zoe has a long-standing and heartfelt history with the William Morgan pub, as she took her first ever Assistant Manager role here in 2009. Starting her journey as a Deputy Manager in 2014, Zoe and a couple of her long-standing team will remain upon re-opening. Having graduated through Stonegate’s internal development scheme Accolade, and Accelerator, Zoe was appointed as General Manager at the William Morgan, and is delighted to be continuing in the transformed venue.

As well as the new look, the pub will now provide extra weekly entertainment, including #MondayClub, Quiz Night on a Tuesday, a free pool night on Wednesdays, as well as live sport across the weekend too! The fun won’t stop there, as the pub will be hosting a grand launch across the 22nd February, through to Sunday 25th, which will see a Quiz Night and ‘Open the Box’ on Thursday, live music on Friday 23rd and their very first roasts launching on Sunday 25th, with bottomless roasties and Yorkshires!
