Following a rigorous selection process, The Woodman, on Breakspear Road in Ruislip, has reached the final six in the Stonegate Pub Partners Pub of the Year category of the Great British Pub Awards (GBPAs). Seeing off hundreds of other entries, its reputation as a small, traditional pub nestled in the heart of beautiful countryside formed a large part of the pub’s success.
The Great British Pub Awards recognise, reward and celebrate the fantastic work pubs do for our country and their communities, the established industry awards is widely considered to be the Oscars of the British Pub Industry.
The Woodman is full of character and characters, where people come to relax in a warm, friendly environment. It is run by publican, Steve Banks, who is a true entrepreneur and has worked to organically grow this business since taking it on in 2015.

The pub’s food and drink offer involves everything you would expect from a traditional local pub, and it is a perfect example of doing the simple things well. Customers can choose from a carefully curated selection of drinks, from real ales to a wide selection of gins and great wines.
