The York pub is set to reopen on May 5th 2023, after a fresh, new takeover, including an extensive menu refresh and subtle renovations throughout!
The central Norwich favourite will also be hosting a launch party in the evening of the 5th for customers to come and enjoy all the new offerings.
The York has recently been taken over by couple Wendy Rose & Joe Kelly, who, after working across hospitality for more than 40 years between them, wanted a change in lifestyle and felt this pub was the place to be!
The neighborhood pub will have a range of changes made throughout, including fresh new décor to compliment the beautiful building it’s already housed in, with a classic design that provides a cosy, warm and inviting feel. As well as this, the new publicans will be utilising a beautiful private function room. The gorgeous space will soon be available for private hire for parties, private dinners and much more!
Wendy Rose, publican, said: “Joe & I have been working in the hospitality industry for over 40 years between us. We have friends in Norwich and have always liked the city, and when the York pub became available, we saw a real opportunity to do something great in a fab area.”
To match the enhanced look of The York, the new owners will focus heavily on high quality, fresh local produce and create a small but delicious seasonal menu. Along with the enhanced menu, The York will also issue a new interesting, varying wine list, with a changing set of diverse wines to accompany the new dishes.
Wendy concluded: “We plan to create a pub for everyone, with a focus on fresh local produce and an interesting, varying wine list. Whether you want to pop in for a glass of wine and a bowl of chips, or a celebration dinner with your family, we can’t wait to welcome clients new and old to our pub.”
