The Cardigan Arms, Corby has recently welcomed local MP, Tom Pursglove to meet the pub team and see its new look following its investment earlier this year.
The pub, part of the Craft Union Pub Company, which won the best community Operator at the Publican Awards 2022, underwent a £208,000 investment seeing changes made to its interior and exterior.
At the helm of the business, Operator Erin Anderson, and the pub team were on hand to give the MP for Corby a warm welcome on his visit. Tom received a full tour of the pub, hearing first-hand from Erin about the pub’s investment and her role at the local venue. Erin said: “I thoroughly enjoyed showing Mr Pursglove around our amazing community pub and showing off all of its new additions, which he seemed to really like.”
As well as the Cardigan Arms’ investment, Erin and the pub team were able to talk more to Tom about their charity work, and community involvement such as the events the pub puts on for individuals in the area. Erin added: “We run weekly events at the pub which we see many customers turn up for and we have a great time at each one. It is great to put things on for the whole community to get involved with and be a place everyone can come to have fun.” The Cardigan Arms offer a range of events including live music and quiz nights.
Erin was also keen to tell Tom about the pub’s brilliant sports offering, screening all live sports and making the venue a hub for sports lovers.
Erin concluded: “Sport is a big part of the Cardigan Arms, and we love welcoming everyone into the pub to watch the games and cheer on their local teams.
“We really enjoyed having Mr Pursglove visit us, and we look forward to welcoming him again in the future.”
Tom Pursglove MP said “It was great to visit the Cardigan Arms in Corby Old Village; a pub which has long been at the centre of our community. I was interested to hear about the significant investment that has been made in the pub recently and it was looking great, with lots of people enjoying a drink with friends. I also enjoyed hearing about the ways in which the pub supports the local community, including through Cardifest. Do stop by!”
