Liverpool’s ‘Lark Lane’ is getting another boost to its Bohemian reputation, after the 19th century Albert Hotel extends its centuries old free spirit with a £200,000 restoration.
Sat majestically, it’s hub of community activity adds to the bustling day and night vibe of the area with its beatnik outdoors adorned with historic lanterns of yester year, to the avant-garde of stunning features, its eccentric Victorian bar.
Debuting its return on Friday 8th from 5pm, Lord Mayor Malcom Kennedy will be supporting the internationally renowned pub in a celebration of a focus on gin, Victorian Punchbowl cocktails, craft beers and cask ale against a backdrop of offbeat acoustics by local musicians.
The once described ‘Glorious Victorian Villa’, with authentic oak wood floors, distinctive ceilings, and restored original fireplaces is a unique setting for nine HD screens featuring Sky and BT Sports though destined to be a magnet for cultural sports enthusiasts.
“The Albert is a fantastically warm venue where Liverpudlians and welcome tourists socialise together creating a powerful asset for the community,” said manager Craig Lindecke who in his four years at the pub has raised thousands for MIND and homeless charities.
The perfect retreat, beer aficionados get local Lancaster Bomber, Triple Blonde and Cascade alongside craft beer alternatives like Jaipur, Kingpin and Shipyard. Gin palace queens meanwhile can celebrate fifteen gins from Warner’s Rhubarb to Bathtub and Monkey 47, paired with an emporium of whiskeys and other premium spirits whilst a vast cocktail menu satisfies those with a sweeter tooth.
Entertainment has a new platform as Friday night live bands take centre stage and locals get their time to shine with Karaoke Saturdays and Open Mic Sundays.
The pub was once a hotel opened by local brewery Caines in the late nineteenth century.
