A brand new pub is set to open in Camberley this week creating twenty-five jobs.
Surrey Arms, situated on the site of the former Yates’s on the High Street, will launch on Friday 21st March, hosting a champagne and canapé reception for invited businesses and guests from 5pm, before doors open to the public from 7pm.
£375,000 has been spent on the refurbishment of the pub which closed two years ago following a fire. “The front of the pub has been totally re-built”, said new general manager Neil O’Hagan “and inside it is unrecognisable. It will be a traditional pub, with a big focus on delivering freshly prepared food, great choice of wines and beers and exceptional customer service, all set in modern, stylish environment. ”
The Surrey Arms will open as a Classic Inn, part of the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company. As well as a menu comprising mouth-watering dishes such as Open Chicken Pie, Pulled Pork Burger and Seafood Linguine, the pub will offer its customers selection of five regularly rotating cask ales. A representative from Hogsback Brewery will be join Neil and his team during the launch evening and will be inviting customers to sample some of the cask ales on tap.
“The pub is in a brilliant situation, right on the High Street, and will be a breath of fresh air after so long closed. It will be a great addition to Camberley and we look forward to welcoming lots of people from the town and surrounding area to the Surrey Arms.”
