Beloved Clapham pub and Stonegate Group venue, Two Brewers, has secured its place in the 2024 Great British Pub Awards (GBPAs). This premier London LGBTQIA+ Drag Cabaret Bar and Nightclub is vying for the title of ‘Best Pub for Entertainment’, a testament to its vibrant atmosphere, innovative events and commitment to inclusivity.
The Great British Pub Awards celebrate the crème de la crème of the pub industry, pulling together the UK’s front runners and rewarding the very best for their excellence in the field. The GBPAs promise a rigorous four-stage judging process, in which renowned industry experts judge sites in an array of categories.
At Two Brewers, every night is a spectacle. The Front Room, with its gold glitter, elegant seating, and bright lights, transforms weekly to host events ranging from cabaret and comedy to themed nights and open mic. The Club Room morphs from a sophisticated cabaret club during the week to a lively nightclub on weekends, featuring top DJs and dynamic light shows.
Events run seven nights a week, 52 weeks a year, offering everything from Monday cabaret with Amy LaQueefa to Sunday’s iconic Power of 4. Monthly shows in the backroom include comedy nights, burlesque, and poetry, alongside regular drag competitions and RuPaul’s Drag Race screenings.
Innovations like the annual Clapham Street Party, which draws over 1,500 attendees, and extensive fundraising efforts for various charities demonstrate Two Brewers’ dedication to both entertainment and community. The venue has raised significant funds for causes such as Stonewall Housing, Wandsworth Oasis, and LGBTQIA+ Ukrainians, to name a few. Their support extends to local queer sports clubs and groups, and they even host a BSL Quiz night monthly, incorporating sign language into their shows.
