The historic Earl Spencer in Southfields, Wandsworth has reopened today after a £226,000 makeover, serving the best in pub food and drinks, just as it has done since the late 1800’s. The investment sees the main character of the beautiful Edwardian building remain, with seating refurbished to give a new level of comfort to guests visiting the popular venue. The investment into this beautiful pub also sees the creation of 12 new jobs in the area.

Located on Merton Street, Southfields, The Earl Spencer is just an eight-minute walk away from Southfields Tube Station, making it the perfect location for lunch, dinner or even just drinks after work.

The dog-friendly pub is open all day, every day for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, the popular pub has had a complete makeover inside and out, whilst retaining all its charm and character and adding those extra comforts that today’s pub visitors and diners expect and deserve.

Externally the pub’s beer garden has seen an update also, with the garden area refreshed to create a serene area to escape the everyday stresses of life. New summer planting has been brought in to give a new lease of life to the outdoor area, making The Earl Spencer the perfect venue to enjoy the sunshine with friends and family.

The new menus cater for all tastes and appetite sizes and there is a good choice from pub classics using local produce, including burgers, steaks and pies, to a tipsy brunch, a children’s menu and light bite dishes. Sundays are headlined by the pub’s well-known Sunday roasts which are always a hit with regulars.

At the bar, guests will be able to enjoy our range of gins, wines, cocktails and beers – alongside a great range of real ales and craft products from Wimbledon, Twickenham, Brixton, Gipsy Hill and Sambrooks from Wandsworth, there really is a little something for everyone.

Join The Earl Spencer for its special weekly events, including their pub quiz every Sunday at 7pm or visiting on Saturday nights to enjoy music.

Further entertainment comes throughout the week with the venues showing of the biggest and best live sporting action across it’s multiple TVs, ensuring guests don’t miss a single second, as we head into the new football season.

General Manager of the Earl Spencer, Emil Draghici said: “This is such a special pub, with so much history and charm, and now it is even better! We have carefully balanced all the original features and character of this lovely building with a touch of comfort. Everything here is about quality – great fresh food and drinks with the best service. It’s a venue very much at the heart of the community being surrounded by many houses, schools and businesses, and we can’t wait to welcome back the local people once again.”
