This May bank holiday weekend The Woodman is to host Woodmansterne’s first Real Ale Festival, celebrating locally brewed ales and craft beers from Surrey and the bordering counties of Sussex and Kent.
“We are proud to invite old and new real ale enthusiasts, families and festival lovers to celebrate in style from 7pm until late on Friday 23rd to Monday 25th May. We are supporting local brewers and offering the special opportunity for everyone to taste something new,” said, Graham Reed, general manager at The Woodman, which is owned and operated by the award winning Stonegate Pub Company.
The free family fun weekend champions six local breweries, each of which exhibit two of their finest ales. Guest breweries include Surrey Hills Brewery, Pilgrim, King Beer and the family microbrewery Clarence and Fredericks. Westerham Brewery Company will also be at the festival alongside the Dorking Brewery. Two mystery ales will be unveiled at the festival and will join the line up at the bar, all profits will be donated to the Variety the children’s charity. Live music and a BBQ will be fuelling the weekend. Greene King is sponsoring the festival and are proud supporters of local produce.
“The family focused Sunday event, will see the bouncy castle and sandpit in action in the pub garden. Hundreds are expected to turn out throughout the weekend, to ensure that you get to taste all of the ales, be sure to arrive before 6pm.“
