A pub in Retford, Yates’s on Chapelgate is planning and EGG-XTRA special Easter weekend for its customers by putting on lots of Easter themed events in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research.
The pub, which is owned by Stonegate Pub Company, is hosting a weekend of parties and events from Maundy Thursday (5th) through to Easter Monday (9th April), culminating in a family fun day and children’s party complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny on Easter Monday. Laura Cree, deputy manager of Yates’s and event organiser is hoping the weekend, which also includes a charity treasure hunt, a pyjama party, live music from ‘Double XL’ and a Willy Wonka’s Golden ticket Party, will raise her target of £1000 for the cancer charity.
“We’ve an action packed weekend planned with our treasure hunt throughout the weekend, live band night of Saturday and our Willy Wonka themed party on Easter Sunday evening. We’ve even have our very own Willy Wonka’s chocolate shop and Charlie’s candy bar and there will be big prizes for those lucky enough to get their hands on a golden ticket!, said Laura.
“Several local businesses have already kindly donated prizes for the treasure hunt so we’re on our way to helping Macmillan. We’d like to invite the people of Retford to join us over the weekend, for what promises to be a brilliant start to 2012’s summer of fun.”

Maundy Thursday 5 April Krazy Easter Karaoke from 9-1pm
Good Friday 6 April Visit from the Easter Bunny 12pm -3pm; Charity cake sale 12-5pm
Pyjama Party Night. Open until 2.30am
Easter Saturday 7 April Classic Rock night with live music from band, Double XL, between 9 and 10.30pm. Open until 2.30am
Easter Sunday 8 April Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket Party from 10pm until 4am. Find the golden ticket amongst the huge confetti canon (set off throughout the night) to win big cash prizes. Willy Wonka’s chocolate Shop and Charlie’s Candy bar open all night.
Easter Monday 9 April Family Fun Day and children’s party from 12-3pm with visit from Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunt and face painting.
Throughout the weekend Yates’s will be offering some of their best ever food and drinks deals including two curries for £5 on Thursday, fish and chips and a hot drink for just £2.95 on Good Friday and selected dishes for £1.99 all day on Easter Monday.
It’s been a busy month for Yates’s as this week the pub launches its latest Spring Summer menu packed with 19 delicious new and enhanced dishes including the super tasty superfood salad – feta cheese, chicken or steak served on a bed of mixed leaves, spinach, broccoli, butternut squash and pomegranate with a lime and chilli dressing – a super food wrap and a brand new Bombay burger.
